The Journey of Perfection: COB LED Strip Production Process

COB (Chip-on-Board) LED strips have revolutionized lighting technology with their superior brightness, seamless illumination, and enhanced flexibility. Step 1: Resistors SMT

The process begins with placing resistors onto the flexible printed circuit board (FPCB) using a Surface Mount Technology (SMT) machine. This step ensures the stability of the LED strip’s electrical circuit.

Step 2: LED Chips SMT

Next, LED chips are precisely mounted onto the FPCB. To maintain efficiency, we utilize one SMT machine for resistors and five for LED chips, streamlining the production process with a total of six SMT machines per production line. This setup significantly increases throughput without compromising quality.

Step 3: Buffer Strips for Smooth Operations

After the SMT stage, the FPCB goes through a buffer strip to ensure a controlled and steady pace for subsequent processes. This step helps maintain consistency throughout the production line.

Step 4: Reflow Soldering

Resistors and LED chips are firmly secured to the FPCB using reflow soldering. High temperatures are applied to melt the solder paste, creating robust and durable connections.

Step 5: AOI Test

Every LED chip undergoes Automated Optical Inspection (AOI) to verify its functionality. This rigorous step ensures that no defective chips proceed further in the production line, guaranteeing reliability.

Step 6: Automatic Gluing

The fluorescent glue, carefully mixed to meet precise Correlated Color Temperature (CCT) and Color Rendering Index (CRI) specifications, is applied to the FPCB using an automatic gluing machine. This step not only protects the components but also enhances light uniformity.

Step 7: FPCB Separation

An automatic FPCB separating machine applies adhesive tape to the back of the board and separates it into individual COB LED strips. This step adds convenience for later installation while maintaining product integrity.

Step 8: Wire Soldering

For added functionality, wires are soldered to the COB LED strips. Whether you’re a DIY enthusiast or a professional contractor, our no-MOQ policy ensures you can order exactly what you need with discounts for bulk quantities.

Step 9: Automatic Strip Reeling

To meet customer specifications, an automatic strip reeling machine winds the LED strips into reels, typically 5 meters long or customized to your preferred length. This step ensures easy handling and efficient storage.

Step 10: QC Test

Quality is non-negotiable. Every COB LED strip undergoes a thorough 100% quality control (QC) test to ensure flawless performance before it reaches the customer.

Step 11: Packing

The final step involves packaging the COB LED strips in anti-static bags or custom-designed packaging. The strips are then carefully placed into cartons, ready for delivery.
